BIG JOHN's ISHIKAWADAI RG TAPERED embodies the memory of Japanese denim's origins and the period when the brand started producing jeans in Japan. It's a model that combines historical details, authentic materials, and a contemporary silhouette, reinterpreting the aesthetic of early BIG JOHN denim through an entirely Made in Japan construction. The fabric is 13 oz denim made from African organic cotton, spun using a historic Ishikawadai machine. Traditional spinning produces a yarn with a deliberately irregular and textured feel, difficult to achieve with modern uniform spinning systems. The yarn's slight imperfections give depth and character to the denim from the very first wear, while time and use progressively develop natural whiskers, fading, and abrasions, creating a unique and personal look. The model is deliberately made without a selvedge, precisely to recreate the spirit of the first jeans produced by BIG JOHN in Japan. It's not just a vintage reinterpretation, but a return to the origins of Japanese denim production. The deep indigo denim is complemented by orange stitching, original buttons, a leather patch, and classic graphic details, elements that recall the brand's history and identity. The TAPERED FIT silhouette offers a comfortable fit at the waist, hips, and thighs, progressively narrowing towards the hem to create a clean and contemporary line.
